« Painting is a universal language, a language that gives meaning and translates what our eyes can see but also what they can only imagine. »
French sculptor and painter Peïo returned to painting after the death of his father, who was a watercolorist. A former sailor, Peïo is inspired by the world of islands and tropics. Using primarily oil paints, Peïo creates portraits through which he hopes to make visible the link between subjects' spirits and faces. Peïo's works are a fusion of the figurative and the abstract, and show immaculate portraits revealed behind a foreground of vivid shapes and colors.
