In this work, I wanted to merge the vibrant energy of the ocean with the timeless grace of the human face. French sculptor and painter Peïo returned to painting after the death of his father, who was a watercolorist. A former sailor, Peïo is inspired by the world of islands and tropics. Using primarily oil paints, Peïo creates portraits through which he hopes to make visible the link between subjects' spirits and faces. Peïo's works are a fusion of the figurative and the abstract, and show immaculate portraits revealed behind a foreground of vivid shapes and colors.
