'The Turn' of the title is the half landing of a staircase viewed from above; descending anti-clockwise from bottom right of the painting up, around, and down to the bottom left. The diverging perspectives of the handrail contrast with the flat horizontals of the steps and the use of simple strong colours and tones re-interprets an interior architectural feature as a semi-abstract still life. Frame dimensions: 124 x 94 x 4 cm.
