About this artwork
One of the most favourite subjects of this artist is women's fashion and/or accessories. This artwork is part of a series of paintings on handbags. The image consists of part of the handbag and only part of the body, resulting in a somewhat abstract impression. Various shades of red are used. The prominent black line is just one single line, which is never crossing.
The 1st additional photo shows the artwork in a black wooden frame. The 2nd, 3rd… and 4th additional photos show the single, non-interrupted line that builds the artwork. One end of this line is in the top line of the handbag; the other end is in the buckle. The 5th zooms in on the brushstrokes on the handbag.
The 6th shows the signature of the artist: 'PK', plus a small simplified horse. 'PK' are the initials of the artist, Peter Koelman. But 'PK' also means 'paardenkracht', Dutch for horsepower. 'That is the reason for the small horse added to the 'PK'.
The last three photos show the backside of the artwork.

By using bright colours and graphical techniques he creates new beauty, crystallized in acrylic paintings and digital pictures. Beauty to fall in love with. The images are always figurative but due to the usage of colourful planes and accentuated lines they sometimes give an almost abstract outlook.
