On a cold November day, this visitor to the grave brought a camping stool with him. He sat motionless for a very long time in front of the grave in Vienna's Baumgarten Cemetery.
Signed pigment ink print on acid-free archival paper with a matte finish. External size DIN A3+ (329x483mm), 189g/m2.
Born on October 7, 1947 in Zurich. Education at the Zurich School of Applied Arts. Subsequently, he worked as a graphic designer in various advertising agencies. Afterwards, I worked as a freelance graphic designer and photographer with my own studio. After retiring in 2013, I moved to Vienna. I work as a freelance photographer and have published several photobooks. When I take a photograph, when I press the shutter, I often think of Faust, who wants to be able to say to the moment: Stay a while, you are so beautiful! Giving permanence to the moment – this possibility of photography has fascinated me from the very beginning. I mainly do street photography, preferably with my Leica. But as Henri de Cartier-Bresson said: It is an illusion that photographs are taken with the camera... they are taken with the eye, the heart, and the head. What matters is the person behind the camera. Photography is my way of life. It means self-discovery. I will continue to try to persuade the moment to linger.
