About this artwork
I created these oil paintings to capture the quiet yet powerful beauty of a unique landscape. The realistic layers and vibrant colors reflect the history and energy of the earth. This work brings calm and depth to any space, inviting the viewer to experience nature in its purest form and feel connected to it.
"Through windows of green, one looks back over wooded mountains, white clouds lying on their edges, the sea blurring in the distant haze.… These high steps are no longer superficial cuts of the sea; they are precipitates of the crust itself, reaching deep into the Earth's interior. This staircase is not carved into a low coral chain laid around the mainland; it is built, constructed from blocks that were carried from the depths to their present height. Over them, Africa rose from the seas of Earth's history."
