About this artwork
The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus), also called blue whale, is a species of cetacean in the Balaenopteridae family. Being able to exceed 30 meters in length and 170 tons, it is the largest living animal in our time and in the current state of knowledge, the largest (before two large sauropods including the Diplodocus hallorum) to have lived on Earth. « Painting and creation, in general, are the best ways to deliver what words cannot say. »
Philippe Abril is an award-winning French painter who has exhibited in both solo and group events nationally. Within his works, he conveys his amazement of having ‘landed on this fabulous planet’. Abril’s naive narrative paintings are mostly made using acrylics, as its fast drying qualities give him the freedom to mix other mediums more easily.
