The tale of Tom Thumb, transcribed by Charles Perrault in the 17th century, is a fascinating story for all children with this attempt at abandonment in the forest, the ogre and the triumphant flight thanks to the smallest child, the one who seemed the less armed. The moral of the tale is this:
"We don't worry about having many children,
When they are all beautiful, well made and very tall,
And an exterior that shines;
But if one of them is weak… or doesn't say a word,
They despise it, they mock it, they plunder it;
Sometimes though it's that little brat
Which will make the whole family happy. »
