About this artwork
A naive landscape, simple but with shimmering and intertwined colors very gently. A regressive desire to come and live in the space of this painting. Find a simple life in contact with things and elements. The ultimate happiness canvas.
"On sunny days and a good season,
At the windows of my house
I watched it pass and glow
Beautiful ships sailing in the wind.
I was the friend of the watchmaker and the wheelwright
And the basket maker and the… rope merchant. "
Extract from my village by Émile VERHAEREN

« Painting and creation, in general, are the best ways to deliver what words cannot say. »
Philippe Abril is an award-winning French painter who has exhibited in both solo and group events nationally. Within his works, he conveys his amazement of having ‘landed on this fabulous planet’. Abril’s naive narrative paintings are mostly made using acrylics, as its fast drying qualities give him the freedom to mix other mediums more easily.
