About this artwork
For me, “treasure island” is the center of the self, where emotions, memories, and riches are hidden and waiting to be discovered.
There is the quest, the desire to access something precious, and the humility in the face of the unknown.
In the drawing, the reddish, dense and fragile lines stretch like a spiderweb at the top, while the material, lower down, thickens, condenses and flows like living ink, suggesting metamorphosis and passage to this… inner treasure.
