About this artwork

I designed this work to express what friendship is. Two characters side by side, one placing his arm without weight, the other feeling that he is surrounded by kindness. There is no tension, just listening without judgment or opposition. The yellow of the cube and the color of friendship, it is brilliant.

Philippe Rude, raised among stained glass and artistic ironwork, is a contemporary sculptor and conceptual artist. Working mainly with stoneware and earthenware clay, he masters a unique technique combining terracotta and colorimetric experiments at high temperatures. He creates a timeless style, traveling between eras and artistic movements through his flagship work, Rude's cube, which he describes as an "autobiography".
