About this artwork
The minotaur is a columnar sculpture part of a series of five. The assembly with the schist stone makes the whole thing majestic. All these materials come from the depths of time. Well-known Mythological Evocation, Icarus is ingenuity, unconscious liberation and mortal hope, I present it at the moment of impact with the cube, the moment before everything shatters. He is still aware of the mistake he made.

Philippe Rude, raised among stained glass and artistic ironwork, is a contemporary sculptor and conceptual artist. Working mainly with stoneware and earthenware clay, he masters a unique technique combining terracotta and colorimetric experiments at high temperatures. He creates a timeless style, traveling between eras and artistic movements through his flagship work, Rude's cube, which he describes as an "autobiography". His works are not only aesthetically pleasing, they aspire to provoke a liberating emotion, a powerful emotional catharsis.
