About this artwork
Through this work, I wanted to pay tribute to those women sometimes simply called "mothers," but who are in reality true pillars of strength. I'm thinking of these courageous women who go it alone, who shoulder the burden of daily life, worries, and hopes. Day after day, they build a fragile but essential balance for their children.
Being a single mother, in my eyes, means being all of these things at once: a refuge, a source of strength, a guide,… but also gentleness and determination. It means learning to transform obstacles into paths, silences into words, absences into presence.
In this painting, I didn't try to depict the tragedy. On the contrary, I wanted to express a quiet dignity, a silent strength, and my admiration. As if to remind us that courage doesn't always shout, it can be read in a look, in a posture, in this way of standing tall despite everything.

Philippe Seigle, a painter based in France, has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Brazil, Italy, the United States, Mexico, and Morocco. Having lived in several exotic countries, Seigle was influenced by and has kept his penchant for bright colors.
