About this artwork
This piece is composed of delicate internal bones of a merluza (European hake), carefully arranged to evoke the figure of a being – upright, poised, almost ceremonial. Mounted on a hand-plastered wooden panel and encased in a transparent box, the form appears suspended – present and untouchable at once.
Two small Swarovski crystals are embedded at its centre, suggesting a heart or energetic axis. These subtle inclusions link material and memory,… anatomy and suggestion.
I often work with bones, spines and other organic fragments – not to transform them, but to reveal their essence: geometry, memory, vibration. This piece draws attention to what usually remains unseen – the inner structures and quiet intelligence embedded in natural forms.
This work is part of a triptych titled Three Forms of Attention – three pieces that resonate together in quiet dialogue, while also standing on their own.
