This piece consists of four fish bone fragments, arranged in a balanced, open structure. The composition rests on a dark, pigmented plaster surface and is enclosed in a transparent box – offering both clarity and stillness.
The form suggests a gesture: something quiet, deliberate, almost meditative. Its symmetry creates a sense of presence, while its openness invites reflection. It is neither figure nor symbol – but somewhere in between, like a… silent movement held in time.
As always, the materials remain unaltered. I work with organic remnants – bones, spines, natural forms – that carry their own memory and integrity. My role is not to shape, but to reveal.
Quiet Gesture (Balance) is the third and final piece in the triptych Three Forms of Attention. Together, the three works form a constellation of presence and perception – each autonomous, yet deeply connected.
Pia Post, a sculptor and conceptual visual artist with roots in interior architecture, cabinetmaking, and international artistic training, works primarily with natural materials such as bones, seeds, and fish spines. Her intuitive, minimal style foregrounds organic textures, quiet geometry, and presence, using custom framing and surfaces to focus the viewer's attention. Post’s art conveys a meditative reverence for nature, inviting contemplation of the cycles of life and the silent, dignified intelligence inherent in overlooked fragments of the natural world.
