This work features a curved arrangement of fish bones, composed to suggest a chamber-like form. Resting on a pigmented, hand-plastered wooden base and enclosed in a transparent case, it offers a focused, quiet space – intimate, protected, and precise.
Its contours evoke a shell, a vessel, or a hollowed body – something that once contained, or still resonates with, presence. The visible teeth add a subtle tension, reminding us that what protects… can also hold power.
As in all my work, the materials are not reshaped but revealed. I work with organic fragments – bones, spines, remnants – that still carry form, energy, and memory.
Inner Chamber (Shell) is the second in a series of three works conceived as a triptych under the title Three Forms of Attention – a constellation of forms that resonate together in quiet dialogue. While each piece can stand on its own, they share a common language of gesture, presence, and transformation.
Pia Post, a sculptor and conceptual visual artist with roots in interior architecture, cabinetmaking, and international artistic training, works primarily with natural materials such as bones, seeds, and fish spines. Her intuitive, minimal style foregrounds organic textures, quiet geometry, and presence, using custom framing and surfaces to focus the viewer's attention. Post’s art conveys a meditative reverence for nature, inviting contemplation of the cycles of life and the silent, dignified intelligence inherent in overlooked fragments of the natural world.
