About this artwork
This painting transports me to a landscape suspended between dream and memory: I see black stems, elongated and almost hesitant, supporting faded flowers—like gaunt sunflowers or ghostly daisies—emerging from an orange soil heavy with ash and rust. Above, light brushstrokes of lilac and ivory suggest a twilight sky, while on the right, a fading solar disk recalls a tired sun, now close to setting.
The atmosphere is one of sweet melancholy: the… material becomes a sign, the traces of color speak of an abandoned garden where life still pulsates, but in a more intimate form, gathered in those dark petals that seem to listen to the wind.

Pietro Daresta is an experienced artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in France, the United Arab Emirates, and Monaco. His works explore the themes of humanity and its frailties, the passage of time, and the observation of the universe, where everything is destined to change. In Daresta's most recent compositions, he has developed a more personal artisitc approach, moving from the sphere of minimalism and the conceptual towards the informal.
