About this artwork
In this highly material and chromatically intense composition, I project myself into an interior landscape where nature is no longer merely a backdrop, but a living, emotional, pulsating body. The seemingly floral or organic forms rise from a layered background like memories sedimented over time, amidst gestural outbursts and visual fractures that evoke the tension between creation and dissolution.
Color dominates the scene with an almost visceral… force: fuchsia, red, and orange ignite the surface, while traces of acid green and black carve sharp contrasts, like open wounds in the material. This is a work that seeks not harmony, but emotional truth. Every pictorial gesture is a declaration, an exploration of the formless, the unsaid, the profound.

Pietro Daresta is an experienced artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in France, the United Arab Emirates, and Monaco. His works explore the themes of humanity and its frailties, the passage of time, and the observation of the universe, where everything is destined to change. In Daresta's most recent compositions, he has developed a more personal artisitc approach, moving from the sphere of minimalism and the conceptual towards the informal.
