About this artwork
If the usual begins to annoy you, and you feel the need for renewal, you need to rotate the painting hanging on the wall. To take it from "water" to "land" mode, simply rotate it clockwise and the fish changes shape into a cat; if I rotate it further, I'm in "air," just a hand's breadth away from a lively hummingbird about to feed. If all this still doesn't satisfy, however, it's possible that the tiredness we've been feeling for days has been underestimated,… and perhaps what seemed like a recurring seasonal apathy is starting to solidify, taking on the characteristics of a stifled tedium that wanders elsewhere within us, that has long been riding the sharp waves of our obsessions, and now we can no longer control. We need to look closer for the source of our discomfort; not in the courtyard, but not even on the landing. We need to go into the living room, rotate that painting a little more and observe it, and perceive, in the reflection on our face, the cold "fire" of our most intimate fears.
The Soul said to its Image: “I will break down the walls of your doorless room, your destiny is my fate” (this is my sentence, this is me).
Pio Luigi Cecchini, a painter and conceptual artist with studies in architecture, design, art, literature, and music, uses painting and design to express his refined aesthetic. His technique eschews repetition, favoring multidisciplinarity and continuous stylistic experimentation, establishing a symbiotic dialogue between soul and image. His works convey intense emotion, surprising and moving, attempting to heal the wounds of the human soul through the power of beauty and the poetic power of aesthetics.
