“The Plan” is a self-portrait of a crucial moment: the process of imagining, calculating, and dreaming about escaping Cuba. It's not just a physical escape, but the construction of a possible future. The black and white highlights… the harshness of the situation: there are no embellishments, no color; only the tension between the light of freedom and the shadow of oppression.
The work invites the viewer to enter the mind of someone preparing to risk everything. Each square is a piece of the internal puzzle of someone who designs their own destiny, reminding us that freedom begins with a thought turned into a plan.
