About this artwork
Hiking in the Scandinavian tundra at different times of the year, experiencing virtually untouched landscapes and being exposed to them inspired me to create this painting. The delicate colors of the Japanese ink contrast with the dynamic brushwork, just as the lovely late autumn landscape contrasts with the roar of the snowstorm. Here, man is part of nature, seeking protection and almost insignificant in the whirlwind of the elements.
