Venere Pop reinterprets the classical ideal of beauty with a contemporary twist. The sculpture, with its harmonious forms, recalls Greco-Roman statuary, but is overturned by bright, surreal colors: deep pink skin, bright yellow hair, fiery red lips, and a golden sash. The effect is unsettling, ironic, and unsettling.
The face retains the composure of the ancient muses, but the chromatic saturation transforms it into a pop icon, somewhere between… myth and provocation. Pop Venus thus becomes a symbol of our time, where beauty is reinvented, contaminated, and amplified to excess.
It is a reflection on the tension between past and present, between harmony and theatricality, between the cult of the image and the loss of identity.
My name is Reginaldo Albanese, professionally known as errealbanese. My artistic research explores the relationship between the sacred, identity, and image in an era in which the face no longer represents the individual, but rather the collective myth. I use digital technology as a revelatory medium: each work does not describe reality, but the fracture that generates it. I work in one-off editions on Dibond metal with a museum-quality plexiglass finish, and in some cases on wood with acrylic accents. My main series—Traghettamenti, Ritratti Impossibili, In Principio C'era il Corpo, Bang Fumetti d'Autore, Frammenti Sacri, Sovranità, and Maschere—explore the face as an icon, not an identity. I exhibit on Singulart with collectors in Europe, America, and Asia. I was selected for 100 Artists of Italy 2025 and awarded as a UK Artist—Top 10 London, with publication in L'Espresso. I believe that art does not reproduce the world: it questions it and re-establishes it.
