About this artwork
"Aegean" is the last, and one of the best?, paintings produced during an Artist Residence on the island of Paros, Greece, September and October 2022.
The painting reflects the culture, and landscape of Alyki and Kamari, small villages fronting on the white gentle wind swept seas, with lovely turquoise, yellows, emerald greens, and sunset pink rose tones.
"Aegean" takes on a world view with a concentration on the idea of abstraction, utilizing… bold spiral movements and upward thrusts.
The canvas is created with the finest paints from Florence, Italy, and is elegantly rich in subtle blended, transitioning tones .
"Aegean" was exhibited at the prestigious Providence Art Club, January 2022, with three other works from Greece.
An attending art club member mischievously asked "Can I take this luscious painting home?"
