About this artwork
"Trapiti" is a painting completed plein- air as Artist in Residence, Paros, Greece, September and October 2022.
The work reflects the colors of the Cyclades environments, with its mountains, clear skies, rose sunsets, rough landscapes/ seascapes and hay yellow fields.
Yet the painting is an abstract art work concerned with issues of space, movement, color ranges, brushwork, layering, depth, surface, and of course abstraction.
DeKooning is noted… in the nervous, fast moving action.
"Trapiti" was exhibited at Providence Art Club, 2022, as part of four large, colorful canvases derived from my sojourn in Greece.
