"Gold Beach" is an abstract landscape color field painting completed as one of a series of 14 large works completed during an Artist Residence at Paros, Greece, September and Octobe,r 2022.
The artwork reflects the colors of the Aegean Sea landscape/seascape with rich blues and whites offset with a crimson red reminiscent of a fiery sunset or flowering Bougainvillea.
The color fields are layered from dark to light in a progression upward, with… mark making an important strategy applied.
The painting points toward a world view, with scale and harmony setting the stages of the image.
"Gold Beach" presents the "jewel like" qualities of the islands filled and sunlight reflected Aegean Sea.
