About this artwork
Feeling lost in life is the best way to find yourself!
In this portrait I wanted to express the feeling to be lost by drawing an exhausted face. The woman is in her 30's and I think I was probably painting myself. The red cyclone symbolises the endless thoughts that keep visiting one's mind over and over. I like to see the positive about it: you will find yourself and the feeling wouldn't last forever!

Rim Elias, an architect, painter and photographer with a war-torn past, employs abstract art and portraiture. With a predilection for faces bathed in light and shadow, Elias employs pencil, water, and acrylic to produce her emotive and exploratory pieces. The nuances in her work mirror deeply embedded feelings of sadness, effectively narrating the humanity's tale through the lens of vulnerability and beauty.
