About this artwork
Drifter is an abstract portrait that captures a state of quiet disorientation, the feeling of drifting when life becomes too sharp or overwhelming. The figure moves not just through space, but through emotion, memory, and unanswered questions. There is no clear path, only a need to keep going.
The acrylic surface is thick and highly textured. I worked the paint slowly, mixing colors again and again to create a hazy, suspended atmosphere. The fog-like… effect was intentional, reflecting a moment between presence and disappearance. The weight of the texture contrasts with the softness of the tones, adding to the sense of emotional drift.
The sides of the canvas are finished in thick gunmetal metallic acrylic, one of my favorite touches. Its subtle sheen adds a quiet strength and gives me peace of mind, even framed, the piece feels whole.
