About this artwork
This painting was created by my mother, Sarah Poorter, a well known artist in the Netherlands back in the nineties. She (at the age of 80!) still enjoys painting and created this acrylic piece several years ago. It is proudly shown within her own living room as she does not promote any of her paintings to the broader audience anymore. I believe the painting deserves an audience and I'm therefore happy to promote it via this platform (with my mother's…
permission). It shows women at the moment of greatest pleasure.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Robert-Jan Poorter is a self-taught painter working primarily in oil on canvas, sometimes incorporating acrylic backgrounds. He masterfully blends figurative neo-pop art with symbolic visual narratives, crafting compositions that oscillate between illusion and reality. His technique vividly captures the innocence of childhood clashing with the disillusionment of adulthood, particularly in his NiceCream series. Through these evocative, candy-colored worlds, he explores the ephemeral nature of happiness, filling his works with both playful optimism and a quiet, poignant melancholy that gently lingers with the viewer.
