About this artwork
The male and female figures depicted in my works are often undisguised in the broadest sense: In these works I am concerned with 'nudity' in the sense of the unadulterated, beyond euphemistic, (provocative) veiling and, above all, beyond the flawlessness that is striven for on all sides . I am interested in the beauty of the human body, which is undoubtedly given over to transience. The current work shows this emphatically. The basis of this expressive…
picture were initially powerful and visibly created forms with filling material, spatula and collages with tissue paper, which were partially integrated in a balanced way during the subsequent painting over or scratched and torn open. The individual color applications are harmoniously interwoven and laid on top of each other to create a glaze. Based on a background of ash, glue and acrylic paint, I created the character 'Eufemia' using ink, oil pastels and color effects.

Robert Süess is an experienced Swiss artist and internationally successful painting teacher whose works have been exhibited in art fairs and galleries throughout Europe. His works are an expression of his observations, feelings and harmonious joy of color. He shows this mainly in abstract, expressionistic, but also figurative series of works in acrylic and mixed media on canvas. His pictures are energetic overall compositions that reflect the character and passion of the artist.
