About this artwork
After a long winter, the artist welcomed the warmth and light of spring. A tree, dormant in winter, from one day to the next, seems to bursts into color. “Blossom”, for the artist represents hope. Instead of beginning with the background, the artist first painted the branches of the tree in silver acrylic. In the spaces between the branches, she decided to block in light and dark shades of dusty-purple. Robin Ballard enjoys the play between realism…
and abstraction, making Blossom a contemporary interpretation of a floral painting. The painting is stretched on a frame and is easy to hang.

« My art is associative. It’s how I interpret the world around me. »
Robin Ballard is an exciting Swiss painter who has exhibited her work nationally. In her paintings, she primarily reflects on contemporary issues such as migration, the rise of China and global dependency on crude oil, seeking not to impose any particular stance but rather to provoke thought and introspection. Ballard additionally enjoys the play between abstract and realistic representation, expertly navigating both to compose a body of work that showcases impressive diversity across a range of styles, subjects and forms.
