About this artwork
I transpose Mona Lisa into a contemporary setting, a subway car covered in graffiti and traces of everyday life. I retain this frontal, enigmatic, almost timeless gaze, but I place it within a modern figure, seated, anchored in reality.
I replace the classic codes with contemporary elements: a jacket, worn jeans, a cup placed next to it. On his t-shirt, I print a reworked version of the Mona Lisa, as a nod to the original work.
I seek to create… a dialogue between past and present, between artistic icon and urban culture. My character becomes a bridge between eras, a figure both familiar and mythical.
