About this artwork
Having worked with abstract painting on canvas for a few years, the artist set himself the goal of creating a canvas.
For the first stage, which was the foundation, he concluded that it would not just be a painting but a wood sculpture. This allowed him to shape the wood.
His work began in the forest; he used only so-called "dead" wood, taking the fir branches lying on the ground.
Once the caliber and size were found in the desired quantity, the… work of sorting, cleaning and disinfecting began in order to eliminate all impurities.
The second step was assembling the structure. This was a key step because it would determine the shape of the canvas.
Sawing, sanding and gluing branch by branch, then application of the first base coat of paint, all white.
The third and final step is to create an abstract painting on this canvas.
