About this artwork
Football, or Futbol, is the truly international sport. It was nicknamed "The Beautiful Game" by its most beloved and greatest player, the Brazilian master, Pele. This is the first of three pieces, inspired by my grandson who is a very good player and has been teaching me about the intricacies of the game. As an American boy I grew up playing sports that require special equipment and place emphasis on power and aggression. I have always admired Futbol…
