About this artwork
This is my depiction of a mythical place created with Euclidean regularity and flooded with the magic of every conceivable wavelength of light. Three ambitious mortals, Sisyphus, Daedalus and Prometheus are shown as they defy the gods. It is a place of great irony where the inherent flaws of their intentions are reflected in modern corollaries, the space shuttle Challenger that exploded because of hubris and design flaws; the Enola Gay delivered…
the first murderous product of mankind’s intimate knowledge of the universe in the form of an atomic bomb. Sisyphus, who schemed for immortality, is shown in his miserable, repetitive eternal labor. This acrylic and string collage has been recently cleaned. It is scheduled to be removed from its stretcher and archived in PVC tube.
