About this artwork
This work understands gratitude as a conscious state of mind. It aims to remind the viewer not only to focus on lack, pain, or loss, but also on what life has given: beautiful experiences, unexpected gifts, but also difficult moments from which insight, depth, or growth could arise.
The spiral composition resembles an inner circle of life. Fine lines and interwoven fields of color show how every experience leaves its mark and becomes part of a… larger whole.
Gratitude should encourage one to consciously perceive, accept, and grow from one's own life with its bright and painful layers.

Ronja Kaden is a painter, draughtswoman, and digital artist who, without formal training, forges her own intuitive artistic path. Her technique is abstract and organic, characterized by fine lines, spirals, and layered structures that evoke associations with inner landscapes, nervous systems, and cell forms. In her paintings, she interweaves order and chaos, beauty and vulnerability into complex pictorial spaces. Her works convey an intense emotional depth—she powerfully translates feelings of otherness, alienation, and the intensity of individual perception into art.
