Sáasil draws inspiration from the labyrinthine patterns and symbolic languages of pre-Columbian civilizations.
Through the straw marquetry, the work unfolds an architecture of interlocking geometric forms, evoking paths, thresholds and cycles, like an inner cartography.
The natural material captures the light and reveals its organic nuances, while a phosphorescent pattern appears in the darkness, transforming the work and unveiling a second, more… secret and immersive reading.
Between matter and energy, visible and invisible, Sáasil invites us to a contemplative experience where light becomes a breath, a silent presence that guides the gaze.

I am a self-taught artist whose primary medium is straw marquetry, reinterpreted in a contemporary way. I employ meticulous techniques, playing with materials, light, and perception, oscillating between surface and volume, stability and transformation. My graphic style makes each piece an evolving visual experience. My work conveys an emotion of sensory and poetic discovery, inviting the viewer to contemplate light as a revealer of matter and to experience something unique depending on their position and surroundings.
