About this artwork
In my work I mix watercolor and chalk to capture the ephemeral nature of water and its ghostliness. The impressionistic style allows me to emphasize the smooth transitions and the play of light and color. It encourages viewers to reflect on the ephemerality of nature and our perception of it. This painting brings a calming, almost meditative energy to any room.

Life paths
My name is Sabine Schoen, stage name Loewenhut.
Born in Berlin in 1952. Here's a brief list of my attempts to capture life in all its diversity: tailor, factory worker, founding a women's punk band, mother of two children, kitchen assistant, manager of a café for clean women, director of a large graffiti project, real estate agent, drug counselor at a therapy facility, residential educator for mentally disabled youth, kindergarten teacher. All of these, of course, are fully qualified.
Artist Statement
I work primarily with oil, acrylic painting, watercolor, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art. This is a long-term project, exploring an exciting new interpretation of the "Seven Deadly Sins" as they are practiced by young people today.
Education: 5 years of training in oil and acrylic painting with Bremen artist Rebeka Uhlig, who is also an overtone artist. A 2-year apprenticeship with Fahrid ad Albaki, a Syrian master of watercolor painting.
