About this artwork
In this painting, I wanted to depict the tension between nature and industry. Using acrylic paint and collage (paper), I created a symbolic narrative that expresses hope and the desire for balance. The human figure carrying plants brings life to a barren world—an invitation to bring this energy and optimism into your home. It is a celebration of nature's enduring power amidst urban challenges. The artwork is framed in a color-coordinated shadow gap… frame.
Sabrina Catowiez works with acrylic paints, pigments, charcoal, and collage elements. She brings a rich, sophisticated visual vocabulary to her work. Her unique visual language emerges from drawing and color, which she dynamically combines. The drawing lends rhythm and emotional tension to the compositions, while the translucent pigments create atmospheric depth. With a clear understanding of composition and movement, the painter realizes her works, which are imbued with literature, music, movement, memory, and travel. Her art is emotional and deeply moving. One immediately senses the influence of early modernist movements—especially those of the "Blue Rider" and "Die Brücke" groups—as well as aspects of Futurism and Expressionist narrative painting. Sabrina gained her first artistic experience in London. The art scene of the European metropolis was a rich source of inspiration. She has lived and worked in Bamberg since 1990.
