Shadow Remains is a work that defies traditional form and identity. Its blurred and undefined appearance seems to blend into space, without a clear outline or precise structure. The work's unregulated surface captures light irregularly, accentuating the play of shadows cast on it. These shadows, volatile and changing, seem to evolve with the viewer's movement, making the work alive and ephemeral. The play of light and shadow reveals elusive, distorted… volumes, where the perception of form crumbles, making each viewing angle different, like a reflection of impermanence.
Saima Altunkaya, a German-Assyrian photographer living in Paris, combines photography with painting, drawing on its deep roots. She adopts techniques such as long exposure and multiple exposure, creating dreamlike images where chance sublimates precision, abolishing the boundaries between reality and imagination. Her works, bathed in a subtle play of light and color, exude an authentic melancholy and invite introspection, touching the viewer with the depth of emotions she unleashes.
