If you can’t find it yourself,
I seek the light in you.
You don't even know
how brightly you already shine,
and that thanks to you I can find my bearings again.
Your loud laughter is so honest,
that I forget your tears,
and you remind me of the late August sun.
Just keep going,
you will find it,
if you continue to believe in it.
The whole world can already see it:
the light within… you.

« Art helps me to express myself when words are missing. It is my retreat and helps me to be with myself, to lose myself in my own world. »
Sandra Brugger (*1986) lives and works in Pettneu am Arlberg and Nesselgarten near Fließ in Tyrol (Austria). In 2013 she completed her sculpture training at the Technical School for Arts and Design in Elbigenalp (Tyrol). In the same year she became self-employed as a freelance artist. Brugger has participated in 15 (inter)national sculpture symposiums and her works have been exhibited nationally, but also in the USA, Germany and Italy.
The subjects in Brugger's works are wide-ranging and range from abstract forms to nature and people. In addition to sustainability, she also weaves socially critical themes into her works. Brugger usually models her distinctive objects from a self-developed wood paste, which she painstakingly produces from wood shavings and sawdust. In addition to this material, she also uses wood, concrete and stone.
