« I create large-scale pieces that encourage the viewer to perceive painting as a physical experience. Painting is mental, and physical work, during which I think and care for my viewer. »
Sandra Strele is an award-winning Latvian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in Estonia, France, and Germany. As far back as she can remember, she has always had the desire to tell stories. Now, every story she creates is a continuation of the previous one, as in series where the protagonists do not age but experience new transformations. They are affected by time, predictions of the future, invented future scenarios, reflections, and devotions to memories of the past.
