This is one in a series of paintings, large and small which are inspired by this colourful, fleeting and favourite season. Sandy lives and works in rural Kent, many paintings are created from observation, memory, and a huge love of colour and vibrant light.
Warm colours, reds, pink, russet, sage green and browns mingle in the grasses.
Sandy loves blending and contrasting colour, and playing with colour relationships,… as well as interpreting landscape. Semi abstract impressionistic paintings allow her to build up colour, tone and texture. She drops, flicks, use palette knives, and rags as well as brushes to create a rich textured surface on the canvas.
This 100x90cm painting is unframed, it has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
