About this artwork
Sandy has been very immersed in her studio over the past weeks, and has spent a lot of time thinking about light, colour, and what makes colours change in mood, tone and feeling.
As a landscape artist living in rural Kent, she naturally spends a lot of time outside. She is highlighting her favourite months, and making small homages to them - August is a time of growing crops and overgrown hedgerows. Everything is a bit blowsy, warm and with a tiny… hint of September cool in the early mornings.
Sandy uses beautiful quality acrylic paints, mostly Golden acrylic, and Lascaux, and a large variety of brushes and palette knives, to drip, wash, smudge and paint the surface of the canvas, to create a rich and varied painting.
This 30x30cm landscape painting is unframed. It has white painted edges, and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
