About this artwork
Divided into three major parts, "Dante" comprises the author’s analysis of the Divine Comedy where importance is given not only to the figures and their positions, but also to the setting. In all three parts of the composition we see thoroughly processed surfaces. The proportion of size and setting of the figures renders monumentality to the composition. Despite the upside-down and separate exposition of the three figures - Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso…
– the composition is nonetheless complete in its context and appears as a whole under a single title - the Divine Comedy.
