About this artwork
With the title "The Beginning", the author of this artwork seems to remind us of the beginning of life, humanity and sin, as well as of the beginning of a common struggle. It is a well-known episode when the first humans tasted the forbidden fruit, and with it the sin. Thus, as at the time, they are portrayed together also in this sculpture. Standing face-to-face on the forbidden fruit with a slight inclination, the heads and hands of the figures…
are moving gently conveying a feeling of regret, compassion, love and care. The author has tried to depict the fruit as natural as possible in its volume, processed surface and patina. Adam and Eve look as if they were standing out from the millennial petroglyphs as a flashback to the early history of mankind.
