About this artwork
Like so many people, I try to capture the best possible moment with my digital camera by taking many photos in quick succession. These short, captured sequences capture a period of time, but later often overshadow my own memories. As a model for my paintings, I search these photos on the computer for fragments that were barely noticeable in real life. Then I transform selected sections into linear outline drawings, which I project onto canvas. The…
resulting surfaces are filled with acrylic paint, similar to watercolors, and reflect the fleeting nature of the moment. The question of the nature of memory and how one can capture memories has long occupied me.
