About this artwork
1986 is a mixed wall sculpture made from mdf, latex, acrylic, lacquer and polycrylic. While the shape and form are modern, the distressed and expressionist paint undercut the coldness of the hard edges. The result is a piece that feels both modern and old, new and used and modern and retro. Vivid blues, pinks and purples glow from this piece as multiple paint layers were added and shipped back. Scott Troxel is an award-winning American artist whose pieces have been exhibited in both solo and group events nationally.
