About this artwork
Two silhouettes rise in a peaceful verticality. Their bodies seem made of humus and wind, shaped by the movements of the ground. The ink embraces their mineral and vegetal forms, blending human gestures with those of nature. The shadows, both deep and light, convey an anchoring—a belonging to the world below.
Here I wanted to express the silent brotherhood between humankind and the earth. In these clay bodies, I sought the memory of matter, the… memory of a first breath. I paint this visceral bond that we have lost, this humility of being in the world among the living and the minerals.
