SHEIDA SAMYI, born in 1966 in Klagenfurt, grew up in Carinthia, London, Abadan. As the youngest child of an Austro-Iranian family, she feels like a stranger everywhere and is always drawn to distant places. Never to

Sheida "Duplicates", a script that can be read from both sides, complex characters become visual language. At the same time, she transforms images into sign language. In short: the artist combines visual art with poetry. Collages, illustrations and graphic typography have increasingly been incorporated into her work in recent times. The most recent work INSIDE OUTINNEN integrates an Arabic, Persian-like script that is only readable in its reflection.
