About this artwork
pastel is sprayed but remains delicate and requires framing to be properly displayed.
My method of protecting the pastel is to use archival tape and board. The drawing process begins by using acid free tape to secure the paper against a drawing board. When the tape is removed a border is masked off. Border not shown here as I do not consider it part of the image. The border is there merely a handle. When finished I tape the piece down to a board,… then using strips of foam core I build up a window across top/bottom. Glassine paper is the stretched tight over the expanse so nothing contacts the pastel.
